Samantha Williamson always knew she wanted to be a teacher from the time she was very little. Her father was the Junior High choir director and Samantha would often "help" or "assist" in conducting. She always loved teaching her siblings and playing school. She had wonderful examples of educators in her own home. Her mother was a kindergarten teacher and so were her grandparents. Samantha loved pretending to be "adulty" until she finally had the opportunity to attend Eastern New Mexico University. She persevered through school also having twins that her and her husband were raising. Samantha student taught here at Lindsey-Steiner Elementary as a sixth grade teacher with Tammy Cox in August of 2012. On December 8, 2012 Samantha graduated from Eastern New Mexico University with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She is Reading and TESOL endorsed. Samantha took her first teaching job in Clovis, New Mexico, at Barry Elementary under the direction of Kari Lemke in August of 2013. There she taught fourth grade and loved it. All those years of pretending to be "adulty" finally came true. She could actually be a real adult doing what she loves even to this day. She decided to move and accepted a position at Lindsey-Steiner in May of 2016 and began teaching fifth grade Reading in August of 2016 under the direction of Rick Segovia. Samantha loves Portales and her students, she wants to continue to impact student's lives by planting seeds for a love of reading.
