Teacher/Staff Bios

Jacqueline Durán has worked for the Portales Municipal School District for almost 10 years. She began with PMSD as a substitute teacher, later gaining a temporary position as a Reading Interventionist at Valencia Elementary. She graduated Cum Laude with a degree of Bachelor of Arts in Education, and double minored in Spanish and Bilingual Education from Eastern New Mexico University in 2015. She currently holds an endorsement in Modern Classical Native & Language, Bilingual Education, and TESOL. In 2016 she became part of Lindsey Steiner Elementary; teaching 5th grade Science and Social Studies. In 2017 she became part of the Dual Language team at LSE, teaching 5th grade Math and Science, as well as 6th grade Math. This is the beginning of her 8th year at LSE, and she currently teaches 5th grade Math and Science Dual Language.
