We believe in students becoming gamechangers within our school and one way we promote this is through student leadership. From Y7 to Y11 students have the chance to become school council members and make an impact on their school lives. There are also opportunities to be involved in more specific roles including an Eco Council, an LGBT council and more. When students reach Year 11 they have the chance of becoming Prefects and are able to take on the responsibility of supporting their younger peers around the school site. The Prefect Team are managed by a Senior Prefect Team and our Head Boy and Head Girl who develop their leadership skills throughout the year.
From the first day I set foot at TPS I felt immediately welcomed by the kind and considerate staff and students that have assisted me through my journey to year 11. They have helped me flourish in confidence and have encouraged me to reach my full potential. My love for learning and sport has been ignited by the passion and enthusiasm all staff members possess, yet I was taught to never forget the importance of enjoying school and doing what I love. As students, we are treated as individuals in our own right, who are celebrated for our uniqueness, and shown the importance of open-mindedness, embracing new ideas and dynamic thinking.
TPS has always facilitated to different hobbies and interests, whether it be the school musicals, school trips abroad or the amazing extra-curricular opportunities that we provide, there is always something new to explore. Personally, I have thrived from the sports and stem prospects, having competed in both mathematical and athletic matches which have helped me strengthen relationships with peers, whilst also learning valuable skills along the way. Bronze DofE has also been a highlight for me, having taught me skills such as map reading and being independent in nature.
Now we are nearing the end of our journey here at TPS, I look back upon my time and realise the true extent that our school has shaped my future and helped me become the best version of myself. Challenges that may have once daunted me, seem achievable with the values that I am equipped with, thanks to the incredible support that’s been provided. Invaluable memories of friendships and laughter will remain with me for the rest of my life, and we hope you can experience this just like we have.
I came from a relatively large junior school, and although I was incredibly excited to start secondary school, I was also slightly nervous at the same time. Despite this, it took no time at all to settle into life at TPS, with the help of my tutor, classmates and also the incredibly helpful teachers. This resulted in my transition from junior to secondary school to be incredibly enjoyable.
In the last few years I have attended TPS, I have been offered a wide range of opportunities that have helped me to find new passions, which I would have otherwise never had known I had. Some of these experiences have massively helped to grow my confidence, and even prepare me for the future. Some great examples of this are my Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh awards, as well as a recent World challenge Expedition through Vietnam, which taught me to be more independent and organised, and was also great fun.
As Eve and I look back on our time here, it has made me realise how much TPS has helped and supported me, to shape the person who I am today. With the past 5 years flying by, I have been left with countless incredible memories of my time here at TPS, which I will never forget.
