At TPS, we pride ourselves on the exciting and innovative enrichment programme we offer to our most able students, but which is also open to all students who are interested and keen to challenge themselves.

A series of exciting cross-curricular workshops are delivered throughout the year on Fridays after school by our teaching staff, and all students are warmly welcome. Our teachers relish the opportunity to collaborate with other subject areas to create highly engaging activities that will expand student minds and feed their curiosity: English working with Music, Maths with Art and PE with Geography – the creative and intellectual possibilities are endless – and great fun is had by all.

Alongside our curriculum workshops, we also run an Academic Excellence programme, where special guests are invited into school to tell their stories and run their own workshops to inspire and motivate our students. Guests have included Peter Hull MBE, Vickii Cornborough (Rugby), Scott Heffield (Bear Grylls’s right-hand man) and speakers from Universities.

Other regular events in the TPS Ignite calendar include our annual trip to St Edmund Hall, Oxford University, Ignite workshops with our local feeder schools and additional qualifications in subjects such as Latin, Further Maths and Statistics.

It is important to us that our students compete with the very best nationally in terms of academic achievement; however, we also want to support them as individuals as they develop the skills, knowledge and characteristics required to become “game changers” of the future.
