3.D- Model and promote management of personal data and digital identity and protect student data privacy.
For this standard I chose to use Seesaw to represent how I manage my students online assignments and how students keep their work private. This app allows me as the teacher to create assignment and assign them to each student. Once a student completes and assignment, it goes directly to me for approval. Once I approve their work it get put into their digital journal. The teacher, the student, and their family member are the only ones that can see their journal. This allows for students to keep their work private but also share their work with just their family.
I use Seesaw on a daily basis in my classroom. I use Seesaw a review of what we learned in class. Once students have learned a topic, I assign them an activity that they can complete that has to do with what was taught as a whole class lesson. This allows my to see which students have mastered the material taught and which ones still need more practice. I also love Seesaw because it allows their family member to see what they are doing in class. This way they do not have to wait until work comes home from school to see how their child is doing.
I have learned so much about Seesaw in the last year because that is what our school used when schools went virtual. I have learned a lot about how to create assignments and how to protect students’ privacy. I think that it was very challenging for me in the beginning to create all of my assignments and it can be very time consuming. But with practice I got faster at it and it has really be a real asset to my classroom this year. The students do a really great job at signing in to just their account and posting things to their journal in order to keep their work private from other students and their families. I will include some links to assignments that I have created.
