3.B- Establish a learning culture that promotes curiosity and critical examination of online resources and fosters digital literacy and media fluency.
For this standard I have included my Teaching with Technology Playlist. This playlist consists of five websites that my students can use on a regular basis. Each one of these websites will provide an educational but fun alternative to learning. I use each of these website with my students in my current classroom. Each one provides a different opportunity for students to be curious about their learning and get comfortable using technology.
I believe that my technology playlist is a great artifact for this standard because it allows students to become fluent with different technology resources. Seesaw is used every day in the classroom to provide students with classwork that they can do right on their ipads. Seesaw will help foster digital literacy. The use of nearpod in my classroom is used to teach children how to use technology the correct way and how to proctect themselves when using the internet. They learn all about digital citizenship. They are able to examine the digital tools to make sure that they are using them in the correct way. These are just a few of the many reasons why this technology playlist fits the standard.
When creating this website, I believe that I found some really great resourses for my students to use on a daily basis. There are many amazing resources to choose form when creating a playlist. With that being said I do think that there are a lot a great resources that I could add to my technology playlist. In the future, I plan to add more examples of technology that will benefit the needs of the students in my classroom. The playlist may change depending on the grade and age of my students. It also may change based on the new resources that I learn about and may want my students to use frequently.
