2.A- Shape, advance and accelerate a shared vision for empowered learning with technology by engaging with education stakeholders.
Reflection
In the class LLT 525, we were given to opportunity to interview a network engineer from our school district. I unfortunately was unable to get in contact with the network engineer from my district. I was still able to interview an important person in our school district, regarding technology. I interviewed the technology integrator. I came up with seven different questions to ask her about her job and what a day in the life of a technology integrator looked like. I learned some really interesting things from her. One thing that stuck out to me is that she really enjoyed how every day was different. She worked with so many different people to help them with technology that each day she went into work doing something different. It really made me think of what it would be like to be a technology integrator and I thought about wanting to do something like she does in the future.
I think that this was the perfect assignment to match Indicator 2.A. An important part of this indicator is that you are engaging with education stakeholders. The technology integrator is someone who is invested in helping teachers use technology to the best of their abilities. Mrs. Reichert gave me some very helpful tips on how to incorporate technology into my classroom. Since this interview, she has come into my classroom multiple times to help me teach lessons to my student about how to use iPads. She is an amazing resource and I learn something new from her every time that I meet with her.
I think that our colleagues can be great resources for us throughout our career. Although they are great resources, I also think that it is important to have professional developments where we learn from education stakeholders. I hope to continue learning as much as I can from these stakeholders. I think that this assignment went very well for me and I learned so much! The only difference that I would make is to be able to meet with the actual network engineer from my district. I was disappointed when they did not return my phone calls or emails. I would like to hear about their job and what they do every day. I hope to meet with them in the future if I ever have the chance.
