Offboarding
Congratulations on approaching completion of the URISE Research Trainee Program!
Offboarding Conversations
A program offboarding conversation will take place with each departing cohort at the end of your 2 year experience in URISE, typically in our May program meeting. If you cannot make the meeting or have questions about the process, feel free to email Becky Miller at urise@pdx.edu
Last Stipends and Staying in Touch!
Submit Final Quarterly Progress Report (due 6/11) and MRF (due 6/15)
To ensure we can stay in contact with you after your PSU email is deactivated, please complete this 30-second form to provide us with the personal email you want us to use.
Send along your jobs or graduate/professional school acceptance/enrollment plans. You can share your current plans on the form above and email any future plans to urise@pdx.edu.
Financial Support
Final Stipend
Your final stipend as a URISE Trainee will be disbursed in May, once all action items from May are complete.
Tuition & Fee Remission
You received your last URISE tuition and fee remission at the beginning of the Spring term. After this, you will not receive additional URISE tuition or fee remissions.
Resident Tuition Benefit
If you are a URISE Trainee who transferred to PSU from an EXITO institution and were assessed resident tuition during your traineeship, you will be assessed resident tuition for two years after program completion as long as you are an undergrad.
RLC Placement
The end of your Trainee Appointment is June 30th, and this marks the completion of your formal URISE Research Learning Community (RLC) placement. After this date, your RLC will not receive funds for your participation and you will no longer receive URISE funding for research training in the RLC. Any time spent in the RLC after completing the URISE program will need to be negotiated with the RLC Principal Investigator (PI).
PSU/OHSU Jobs
If you are offered a paid position in your RLC (or another OHSU/PSU department), and you plan to start before June 30th, email urise@pdx.edu as soon as possible. We are dedicated to supporting you in the next steps but we need to make sure we are in compliance with PSU, OHSU, and NIH requirements.
Alumni Network
There will be ongoing outreach via newsletters and alumni profiles. We ask that you share a personal email so we can stay in touch and add you to the Alumni Listerv for opportunities and events. As always, feedback is welcome, and Alumni can reach out anytime to exitoalumni@pdx.edu with questions or feedback.
