Circle Planning Worksheet

Stages
Guiding plan:
Opening: Set the tone and design of the circle
Sitting in Circle: Invite participation, inspiration for dialogue
Checking In: A moment for participants to be present and grounded.
Intentions and talking piece: State any objectives of today's circle. Remain flexible and center student directed conversation.
Guidelines/Values: Articulating how restorative values guide your discussion
Guiding Questions: Rounds/Storytelling (may include the restorative questions for community building, difficult conversations or in response to harm)
Check-out: Opportunity to share participant experience, assess developing learning and social-emotional response to dialogue
Closing: Signal the end of circle, identify areas for further discussion. Ensure safety and opportunity for debrief.
