I am so pleased with the way in which the whole school community has responded to all initiatives designed to raise standards and expectations as we returned in September. 'Readiness, Respect, Punctuality' are lived and breathed through our line ups, uniform and equipment checks and orderly starts to each lesson. The impact of this incredible team effort is becoming clear after half a term's work: a record number of students have already achieved 100, 150 or even 200 achievement points in this half-term alone. As a result, we will be holding rewards assemblies in the first week back to give out the first round of bronze, silver and gold achievement badges for 2023-24. The second round of achievement assemblies will then take place just before the Christmas holidays.
I can also report that the first half-term education in The Drive, our in-house Alternative Provision Centre, has also been successful. The impact of this provision, along with our routines in the main school, can be seen in a 40% reduction in the number of students in Reflection this half-term compared with the same half-term in 2022-23. There has been a marked reduction of 80% in the number of suspensions that have had to be issued this half-term compared with the same time a year ago.
