This year the Sixth Form Leadership Team has chosen Children With Cancer UK and OLLIE Foundation for fundraising efforts.
They are one of the leading childhood cancer charities in the UK. In the last 35 years they have spent:
£10 million on family accommodation
£3 million on financial supports grants
£2.5 million on medical equipment
£3 million on support services
They help families and raise awareness through initiatives and campaigns to help the public and the scientific community understand childhood cancer better.
In 2016, three parents who had all lost their teenage sons to suicide, vowed to do all they could to prevent other families suffering similar tragedies. And so The OLLIE Foundation was born.
OLLIE is a charity dedicated to delivering suicide awareness, intervention and prevention training by empowering professionals and young adults in their own communities to lead suicide prevention activities.
We do this by:
Providing confidential help and advice to young people and anyone worried about a young person
Helping others to prevent young suicide by delivering a number of training programmes
Campaigning and influencing National policy
