Year 10 and Year 11 students from OSA have had the chance to go on a day trip to France to visit the city of Lille. It was a real pleasure to see the students interacting in French with the inhabitants of Lille “Les Lillois”. They were all proud of being able to understand the language, put into practice what they learnt in lessons and communicate.
They also had the opportunity to meet Anne, our passionate tour guide who took the students to the Old Town of Lille, the Cathedral Notre Dame and the Museum of Charles de Gaulle. Anne did not hesitate to test students’ history knowledge and some of them answered brilliantly! Students also went to a traditional bakery and could not resist to the French patisseries especially the “macarons”.
To finish the day with the Christmas spirit, students visited Lille’s Christmas Market to discover the lights and decoration of the city, marvellous stalls but also the magic of the “Grande Roue”. They were amazed by the architecture, especially from the big wheel which reminded us of our London eye.
