As part of our ongoing commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive environment, OSA believes in empowering students to become advocates for positive change. The decision to have Year 9 and Year 10 students take the lead in organising and conducting Anti-Bullying Assemblies is a testament to our belief in the transformative power of student-led initiatives.
The assemblies, held on 30 November and 01 December, were a remarkable blend of creativity, passion, and a resounding call for unity against bullying. Under the guidance of dedicated teachers and staff, the students designed a thought-provoking presentation and assembly.
Mr. Millar with Mrs. Panayiotou, Ms. Nation and Ms. Dorsett, who mentored the students throughout this empowering process, expressed their pride in the students' dedication, stating, "It's inspiring to witness the depth of understanding and commitment these young leaders have displayed. By taking charge of these assemblies, they have not only raised awareness but have also become ambassadors for kindness and empathy within our school."
The assemblies addressed various aspects of bullying, including its impact, strategies for prevention, and the importance of fostering a culture of respect.
OSA remains committed to nurturing the leadership skills of its students and fostering an atmosphere of inclusivity, respect, and empathy. The success of these student-led Anti-Bullying Assemblies marks a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to create a safe and supportive learning environment for all.
