yEd - Select Elements

Select Elements can be configured and used to select and highlight the elements associated with the current selected element.

To use Select Elements, open the dialog use the menu option:

Tools -> Select Elements

Click on the Nodes tab

Set the following settings:

Select = Neighbours of Selected Nodes

Maximal Path Distance = 100

Click on Dock button - this should dock the Select Elements window for quick access.

Select an node element (not a trace) and press the "Apply changes" green arrow button and all connected node elements will be selected in the main viewing tab.

If you wrongly select a node element, then just click on another node element and try again.

Additionally, the Neighbourhood context view will provide display all the connected nodes; and the Structure View will highlight the connected nodes.

In each of these views you can click on the node and the main view tab will change focus to that node. When you do this, unfortunately the focus will change to just that node. Click on the green arrow Apply Changes button in the Select Elements dock again to select all the connected node elements again.
