Convert PC Floppy Drives to Amiga

PC Floppy Drives:

• Drive Select on DS1.

• Generates a Disk Change (/DC) signal on Pin 34

• Does not use a Ready Signal (/RS | /RDY | /READY)

Amiga Floppy Drives:

• Drive Select on DS0

• Disk Change (/DC) signal on Pin 2

• Ready Signal (/RS | /RDY | /READY) on PIN 34

Conversion From PC to Amiga:

• Set Drive Select to DS0

• Route Disk Change (/DC) to Pin 2

• Route Ready Signal (/RS | /RDY | /READY) to Pin 34

  • If the floppy drive does not generate a Ready Signal then you need to provide a fake/substitute one.

• Connect Density Select (/REDWC - REDuce Write Current) detection signal, if present.

  • Some PC drives will change the write current for HD disks.
