Dear Falls-Lenox Families,

Happy Halloween from Falls-Lenox!  The students had a great afternoon at our Halloween parade and parties!  Thank you to all of our parents who attended the parade and helped with the parties!  

Next week is our "Wellness Week", and the following will be taking place each day:

Monday - Students complete a Halloween feelings handout.

Tuesday - Wear a shirt with a message of kindness or positivity

Wednesday - Screen free challenge. Completed pages can be put in Mrs. DeLuca’s mailbox

Thursday - Bring extra Halloween candy to school to donate.  Family Wellness Night at FLPS 6:00 p.m.

Friday - Bring a healthy snack to school.

Family Wellness Night - Will take place on Thursday, November 3rd from 6-7:30 p.m.  An invitation and RSVP for the event was e-mailed home to families last week.  If you plan to attend, please RSVP HERE.

Picture Retakes will take place next week on Friday, November 4th.  The link to order retakes can be found HERE.  This online ordering option is available only to students who plan to have their picture taken on Retake Day and will be purchasing for the first time.  If you are not satisfied with your photos from the original Picture Day, return the entire package to receive your retake photos.  If you would like to order photographs from the original Picture Day, you're welcome to contact our Customer Service Department at (216) 631-0664 Ext. 1 or Toll Free (800) 686-7427 Ext. 1.  Click on the "Order Online" link above or simply go to RipchoStudio.com to order your school pictures. Veteran's Day Program - Will take place on Friday, November 11th at 8:00 a.m.  Falls-Lenox students are invited to have a veteran in their life attend the program.  A letter with RSVP went home with your child.  A copy of the letter and RSVP is attached to this newsletter below as well.

School Times:

School Day:  8:00-2:35

Tardy Bell:  7:55 a.m. (Students must be in their classrooms by 8:00 a.m. Students entering classrooms after 8:00 a.m. will be marked tardy.)

Office Hours:  7:30-3:30 (You can leave a message after 3:30 p.m.)

Note: If your child is a car-rider, doors open at 7:35 a.m. and are open until 7:55 a.m.  The side doors are locked at 7:55 a.m.  If your child is coming to school after 7:55 a.m., they will need to enter through the front doors.  If your child plans to eat breakfast, please have them at school by 7:45.  Students cannot enter prior to 7:35 am.

Grades 1-2:  $90.00 Total

Grade 3: has an additional $25 for a Chromebook Device fee

$42.00 - Instructional (Bridges Math Workbook, Science Fusion Workbook, Handwriting workbook, Scholastic News, etc.)

Questions to ask your child about their school day, instead of "How was school"?

1. What made your smile today?

2. Who did you sit with a lunch?

3. If you could change one thing about today, what would that be?

4. What was the hardest rule to follow today?

5. Tell me something you know today that you didn't know yesterday.

6. What did you learn today?  What did you enjoy learning the most today?

7. Tell me what you are writing about during writing workshop.

8. Tell me about a book you read or was read to you today.

Clinic Updates -  Please do not send your child to school with a fever, diarrhea, or more than 2 of the following symptoms:  cough, shortness of breath, chills, fever, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, headache, diarrhea.  Students cannot return to school after a fever or diarrhea until they have gone 24 hours symptoms free.  If your child is identified as a close contact, please monitor for symptoms.  Call off your child using our attendance line:  440-427-6411.
