Dear Falls-Lenox Families,

Welcome to Falls-Lenox Primary School for the 2022-2023 school year!  At Falls-Lenox Primary School, our staff believes in fostering strong relationships within our school community while developing the skills necessary to think critically, develop creativity, build self-confidence, work collaboratively with others, and communicate ideas.  It is your support and partnership that makes our schools a great place to learn and grow!   We are excited about the opportunity to work with you and your child!  In this newsletter, you will find important information about the opening of the school year.

Class lists will be posted on the front doors of the school and on the website August 17th at 3:30 p.m.  We also invite you and your child to Open House/Visitation on Monday, August 22nd (1st grade at 5:00-5:45 p.m., 2nd grade at 6:15-7:00 p.m., and 3rd grade at 7:30-8:15 p.m.)   At Open House/Visitation, you and your child will enter through the front doors of Falls-Lenox and will go to your child's classroom. You and your child will have the opportunity to meet the teacher, share your hopes and dreams for your child and the new school year, learn about the class, and drop off supplies.  Please make sure that you have labeled your child's school supplies.  Also, our clinic will be open during Open House, if you need to drop off medication for your child.  The medication form can be found by clicking HERE.  We ask that parents make arrangements for siblings during open house as space is limited and this is a special evening for you and your child.  The First day of school for 1st-12th grade students is Wednesday, August 24th.

Please make sure that you have completed your child's returning student registration. Parents/guardians should have received an email last week with the link.  We encourage you to have your child ride the bus, however if your child is not going to be riding the bus to or from school, please make sure that you have completed an alternate transportation form.  That form can be found HERE.  If your child is a car rider, you will be receiving a car tag during open house (new parents only).  Please write your child's last name on the tag and have it displayed on your rear view mirror for pick up.  When picking up your child as a car rider, parents will pull in by Kids First, circle around, and pick up on the Kids First Side of Falls-Lenox.  We ask all parents/guardians to remain in their vehicles, pull forward, and a staff member will assist your child. We appreciate your patience the first couple weeks with the car rider line!

School Times:

School Day:  8:00-2:35

Tardy Bell:  7:55 a.m. (Students must be in their classrooms by 8:00 a.m. Students entering classrooms after 8:00 a.m. will be marked tardy.)

Office Hours:  7:30-3:30 (You can leave a message after 3:30 p.m.)

Note: Doors open at 7:45 a.m.  If your child plans to eat breakfast, please have them at school by 7:45.  Students cannot enter prior to 7:45 am.

Grade 3: has an additional $25 for a Chromebook Device fee

5 things to ask your child about their school day, instead of "How was school"?

1. What made your smile today?

2. Who did you sit with a lunch?

3. If you could change one thing about today, what would that be?

4. What was the hardest rule to follow today?

5. Tell me something you know today that you didn't know yesterday.

Clinic Updates -  Please do not send your child to school with a fever, diarrhea, or more than 2 of the following symptoms:  cough, shortness of breath, chills, fever, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, headache, diarrhea.  Students cannot return to school after a fever or diarrhea until they have gone 24 hours symptoms free.  If your child is identified as a close contact, please monitor for symptoms.  Call off your child using our attendance line:  440-427-6411.
