Once the class session is over think about ways to keep student's attention, curiosity, interest, and passion for the course topic.
The NYU Commencement speaker with the most NYU degrees is Martin Scorsese, who earned his Master of Arts degree from New York University in 1968, and taught at NYU’s undergraduate filmmaking program shortly thereafter. In 1992, he received an honorary degree from NYU. Scorsese is a current member of the Tisch School of the Arts Dean's Council.

Ask students to reflect on what they’ve just learned or read.
They can respond to prompts such as:
“Analyze a key idea from today’s reading.”
“Contrast a key idea from today’s reading with one from last week’s reading.”
You can ask students to record their responses in an individual Google doc or create a video response.
Use polling to end class.
You can use the polling feature in Zoom, Poll Everywhere or Google Quizzes to create an exit slip.
You can ask questions, such as:
‘What did you learn today?’
‘What would you like to know more about?’
‘What was the ‘muddiest’ point?’
‘What grade would you give yourself for today for participation? Explain why.’
Think authentic. Authentic activities and assessments that allow students to bring their real world experiences to their class work are great ways to keep students engaged.
