After selecting the pedagogical strategies (including assignments, assessments and course materials), it is time to choose the appropriate tools within NYU Classes to support those decisions.
Note: Feel free to add or remove the Tools that will benefit your class.
The University’s first study-abroad site, NYU Madrid, opened in 1958. NYU’s global network will eventually expand to 13 sites on six continents.

Overview
The Overview is the summary of your course site and will generally be the first page you see when visiting a course site. You can view general site information, upcoming calendar entries, recent announcements, messages, and forum/chat posts.
Lessons
The Lessons tool is where your course site content will be created and viewed in modules and sequences.
Announcements
The Announcements tool is perfect for posting current, time-critical announcements on the site. Announcements can be created ahead of time and sent out at specific dates/times.
Forums
The Forums tool is where you can hold a discussion board for asynchronous conversations. Add posts/topics to a discussion board and have your students add to it.
Messages
The Messages tool will function like your E-mail, but will house and organize all your course site messages. Send messages to individuals/groups in the site. Messages are sent both within the system and as external emails to members' directory email addresses.
Assignments
The Assignments tool will allow you to post, submit, and grade assignments in the course site. Instructors can provide instructions and online submission options for student work.
Syllabus
Within NYU Classes, instructors can post their course's syllabus in the dedicated Syllabus tool, available by default in every course site's left tool menu.
Zoom
The Zoom tool is integrated and linked to NYU Classes. All meetings scheduled in your NYU Classes course site will be accessible to students of that course site without having to email the link. Guest speakers will still need to be emailed the Zoom URL link of their meeting(s).
Settings
The Settings Tool allows instructors to access administrative settings within the course site, and will only be viewable/accessible to the instructor and course site admins by default.
Proceed through the Google Slides for steps for Selecting Tools in NYU Classes.
The "Keep it Simple Principle" is the best approach for tool selection. Think communication, dissemination, and collection.
