The Virtual Classroom

The remote classroom utilizes different tools for connecting and communicating with students. Zoom is the official tool for all NYU SPS live remote class sessions. The tool allows you to share slides, documents, audio, video, and other media LIVE and in real time.

Security Note: Despite recent media coverage addressing the platform's security concerns, the NYU IT Security team assures us that Zoom is safe and secure, and that many of these concerns do not apply to NYU's Zoom configuration. This guide will address the "How to" best practices for keeping the virtual learning environment secure.

Fun fact.

In 1980, WNYU became one of the first New York stations to switch its format to New Wave. Legend has it, some of MTV’s branding was based off WNYU promotional material, and many early VJs like Martha Quinn, Tim Sommer, and others started out as WNYU DJs.
