In the Strike Zone: A Bowling Interview
By Kenzi Perkins, on Tuesday Feb. 4
Strike! As the ball flies down the polished lane, it topples the pins, securing a win for the Sheridan Generals. While the bowling season has only just started, the success of Sheridan’s bowling team is undeniable.
Having only lost to one team thus far this season, we’re anticipating great things from this year’s team. The team is made up of mostly underclassmen, one of which is freshman Issac Stemen.
“I’m really glad to be part of this team, and I’m excited to see how well we do,” Stemen said. Although it’s only his first year, Stemen says that he’s made a lot of progress from even just the start of the school year, building off of the experience that he’s had before high school.
Just as in any sport, teammates make memories at their practices and competitions, bonding over their shared love of the game. Bowling is no different. “I have a lot of really good memories,” Stemen said with a smile on his face. “My favorite memory was the very first tournament of the year. It was so cool to be able to work through our nervousness together, and we ended up having a lot of fun.”
With all of the success that we’ve seen so far, we can cross our fingers that the streak continues, carrying our team all the way to the state competition. Wishing good luck to Sheridan’s bowling team for the rest of the season!
