Newspaper Club

Have you heard about Sheridan High School's newspaper club? You're on their website right now! In the Newspaper club, you can write about anything and everything as long as it’s school-appropriate.
Ali Sims is a proud member of the Newspaper club, and she gets to choose what she writes about. “T.V Books, movies, and entertainment are my favorite topics,” said Sims.
Ms. Audra Wills, an English & Journalism teacher at Sheridan, is in charge of the Newspaper club and she loves that the students pick to write about the things they like. “I like when they [staff members] write entertainment articles because they get to pick topics they enjoy, and you hear their writers' voices,” said WIlls
The club meets at least once a week to discuss newspaper business. "We meet once a week and students update us on when they can start writing a new article,” said Wills.
They both decided to join the newspaper because they love to write and enjoy interacting with others who also have a passion for writing. Mrs. Wills is an English teacher and Ali is just a student who loves writing and has lots of free time.
“It’s a really cool way for students to get involved. “I also did it in high school," said Wills.
Ali really wants more people to join the Newspaper club because she thinks it is so fun and she thinks so many people would too.
“ I want more people to join. There are only 5 of us and it's kinda boring with only five,” said Sims
If you want to join but you are too scared just talk to Sims or WIlls they both would have good information on why you should join it.
"It's fun to talk to people you don't necessarily talk to,” said Wills.
“ If you like to write and you're bored, then join the newspaper club,” said Sims.
Wills would just want to change one thing. “I wish that we could get the information out
better. Some people don’t even know to check the Newspaper Club website or that it even
exists. There are papers around the school's hallways where you can just scan a QR code and you can read all the articles you want."
