Supporting wider settings
CRN WM have historically provided a Health Informatics service to studies recruiting within Primary Care settings, in order to assist with identifying potentially eligible patients. As we begin to explore new settings to deliver research within, this project will look to develop the infrastructure required to be able to assess the potential to support research studies recruiting in wider settings by utilising the same data driven techniques we are familiar with from our experience supporting Primary Care research.
This workstream was designed to meet the following objectives and linked outputs within the overall Progression Plan Project 11 action plan
Objective 2.0 Identify existing digital strengths within the region to understand what the region's capabilities are & communicate these out widely
Output - Creating the infrastructure to assess each digital opportunity in a new setting as they arise, will enable us to record each successful engagement as a local digital strength, providing a resource for the Study Support Service to refer to when meeting researchers
Objective 8.0 Improve the digital infrastructure within CRN WM to help support staff knowledge and development, improve advice and guidance to researchers in all settings and provide a platform for the recruitment of participant volunteers
Output - Designing & implementing a resource accessible by the wider CRN WM team to be able to access information on the new engagements made, to provide valuable information on data & digital options for researchers engaging with us
Objective 10.2 Scoping project exploring the potential to utilise successful data driven methods of patient identification in Primary Care, within clinical systems used in Secondary Care settings
Output - This project will build on the work carried out analysing the potential for ROST to support Health Informatics work in Secondary Care by recording and utilising the assessment framework used and applying to similar activity scoping new settings for research delivery
This workstream produced a number of outputs that can be located within the Project 11 micro-site by following the links below. Case studies of our work within wider settings can be found here
Project key objectives
Scoping, assessing and engaging with digital opportunities in wider settings
Project key objectives
This project has been discussed and designed in follow up to a previous project looking at assessing opportunities to support research in Secondary Care settings from a data & digital perspective.
The key objectives of this project are as follows:
To design and apply a framework for the assessment of digital opportunities to support research delivery in wider settings , with a view to expanding the remit of the CRN WM Recruitment Optimisation Support Team (ROST) to support research outside of its core business within Primary Care
This project will aim to create and solidify communication links between ROST and the wider CRN WM team to enable early engagement with researchers and our own delivery teams operating in all settings
This infrastructure will allow the scoping of potential new areas of digital focus, followed by the engagement with relevant stakeholders, to inform a full assessment of the potential of ROST to support research delivery across the full spectrum of settings that CRN WM are engaged with
