The girls varsity golf season has officially ended. This year’s season was one for the books with an overall record of 8-0-1. On Thursday, Sep. 15, the girls had their last home game match against Whiteland Community and came home with a win of 207-192. On Monday, Sep. 19, they played in their sectional at Cascades Golf Course in Bloomington. Senior Hannah Emenhiser shot an 86 and will advance to the Franklin Regional.

When asked about their season ending, the girls referenced how much fun they have during the season. “I liked the fun at practices,” said Emily Hogue (10), “and Mrs. Moore telling us to not give up.”

Senior Bailey Dowty will also miss the fun she had with the team. “I liked hanging out with my friends,” said Bailey Dowty, “and the sport itself is fun.”

The ICHS Girls Varsity Golf team has done it again. In their recent match against Brown County, the girls came home with a win of 227-210 on Thursday, Aug. 18. Leading the way for the Braves, senior Hannah Emenhiser earned medalist honors shooting a 43. “My whole family plays golf, and I enjoy the sport,” said Emenhiser. “Freshmen year I had to decide to play golf or volleyball and I decided to play golf for my grandad. It was the best decision I made, I’ve had a lot of success from golf.”

When asked about the current season, Emenhiser reported that the season was “going really well.” The girls are indeed on a winning streak this year with an overall record of 5-0. The girls’ next home match is Wednesday, Sep. 7 against Triton Central.
