Do you have anxiety?

by Callie Shively

Having occasional anxiety is a completely normal part of life and can actually benefit you. However, people with an anxiety disorder experience anxiety in a different way. Anxiety disorders most often involve episodes of sudden panic that can peak within minutes; these may be referred to as panic attacks or anxiety attacks.

People suffering from anxiety often experience symptoms such as an increased heart rate, concentration issues, insomnia or other other sleep disruptions, and an inability to “not worry” about things—large or small. There are many different options to help manage and treat anxiety. Some options include therapy, medication, and lifestyle changes, such as having a regular routine or limiting how much you use social media. These will not always work, and you might have to try multiple treatments or a combination of treatments to find what works best for you.

If you need help immediately, you can text CONNECT to 741741 or call the SAMHSA hotline at 1 (800) 662-4357. You can also reach out to student services for further support and guidance in how to start your treatment journey.

Candy Survey

by Lauren Hickson

Since it was spooky season, we decided to take a poll of the student body as to which candy was most popular. Teachers take note! This is what you should be stocking to "motivate" your students!

By far, Kit-Kats, Reese's Cups, Skittle, Snickers, and Twix are the most loved candies at ICHS.

Fall Break Plans

by Robert Dillingham

Right before fall break, I asked people what plans they had. We did have quite a few people say that they were going to work, like Rylee Murphy, who said Walmart, and Joslynn Hockman, who said Mcdonald’s. Some other people said places like Urban Air, Brozinnis, and Montana Mikes. Even Jose Giron said that he was going to work at Mi Jefe. We also had people say they were going to play sports, like Kendall Eden who would play volleyball. Some people, like James Kelly, said Football. People also said they were going to hang out with their friends, like Brylea Scoggan. The important thing is that people were doing fun stuff over fall break, and that’s what matters: Having fun with their activities.
