Volleyball’s Dig Pink Fundraiser by James Ellington

Since August 2021, ICHS Volleyball Team has been running a fundraiser to fight against stage IV breast cancer which is the least funded form of Cancer. The event was founded and created by Emilee Scott, who is teaming up with The Sideout Foundation. The fundraiser and event is called Dig Pink. When asked about it, Emilee replied, “I have always wanted to do something positive like this for our community & school, especially after Covid, so when I found Dig Pink I thought it would be a great opportunity for our program.” She continued with “Many people in our community have been influenced by the disease, which makes it nearer and dearer to our hearts.”

Coach Mike Perry, whose wife survived breast cancer, is also donating to Dig Pink, having put together a gift basket with all the boys and girls tennis teams’ donations.

So far, Coach Perry, Emilee, and her colleagues have raised over $2000. If you'd like to donate, Dig Pink is scheduled to take place on August 31st at 7:30 in the Gymnasium. The Volleyball team will be facing off against West Vigo at this event. T-Shirts and other merchandise are available for those interested as well.
