Week ending Thursday 23rd May 2024

Dear Families,

We have had another very busy week in Reception. We started our new topic called 'Let's Create Together.' We have been learning about what makes a good partnership and we have been designing models as a pair. During our first week back, we will be using our design to make our own model. If you have any junk modelling materials at home (cardboard boxes, plastic bottles, etc.), please send them in with your child. We have also been consolidating our maths learning this week and making sure we are super secure with our number bond to 5 and 10.

Thanks again for supporting our lemonade sale last Friday, the children really enjoyed celebrating this snapshot of their learning with you. Enjoy the half term break, and we look forward to seeing everyone on the 3rd June for our final half term in Reception!

Best Wishes,

The Reception team.

This week we were consolidating our learning from the half term, with a focus on the composition of 5 and 10. The children were able to represent number bonds in a variety of ways including ten frames, part part wholes and even equations! It was great to see that by the end of the week they could automatically recall many of their number facts,

Our Phonics Learning this week

The children are now all focussing on Special Friends Sounds (two or more letters making one sound). Here are some links to help you practice over the holiday.
