Week ending Friday 3rd November 2023
Dear Families,
Welcome back! The children have had a fantastic first week back after our half term. This week we have been learning all about Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights. We were introduced to the story of Rama and Sita, made lanterns and even coloured some Rangoli patterns. The children were very curious about the celebrations and loved asking questions to find out more.
The children have been busy across all areas of their learning this week. We have continued building our phonics knowledge, begun to explore addition in maths and started retelling a new story.
We are also looking forward to our first trip to Clissold Park on Friday 17th November in the morning. We will need some adults to make sure we can navigate the park safely, if you would like to volunteer to come with us please speak to a member of the team.
Best wishes,
The Reception Team

Drop off
Now that the children have settled into our morning routine, please ensure that you are not waiting by the gate after you have dropped off your child. This ensures that everyone can get into the line safely and on time!
Book Bags
Please ensure that your child brings their book bag to school every Friday so that we can exchange their reading for pleasure and phonics book for a new one!
Wellies
If your child is wearing wellies to school please ensure that they are bringing their uniform shoes with them in a bag. This way they can change when they get into the classroom.
