Week ending Friday 17th May 2024

Dear Families,

This week we have continued our topic 'My Local Community'. Our focus has been on how we can help the community we live in. To help our community we wanted to raise money for a charity, so we decided to have a lemonade sale! The children used every opportunity to use their learning to plan for the event. In writing, the children wrote instructions for what we needed to do to get ready for the lemonade sale. They also created signs to make sure every one knew about the event. They even helped to squeeze the lemons to make the lemonade! We had such a great week and thank you to all the parents who came to our lemonade sale. It was amazing to see the children's excitement and passion for our charity event. The children took such pride making and serving the lemonade to their family. We are so proud to say that we raised an incredible amount for the Hackney Food Bank, we really are helping our community!

A friendly reminder that next week is our last week of the half term. We will be finishing on Thursday 23/5 and returning on Monday 3/6 for the final half term of the school year!

Best Wishes,

The Reception team.
