Week ending Friday 26th January 2024

Dear Families,

This week we completed our 'Clean Up!' topic by answering the  question 'How can we help the environment?' The children learned about the three types of pollution and the importance of recycling. We were even lucky enough to have someone from Hackney Council tell us how we can make sure we protect our school environment. As a class we created a poster using recycled bottle tops and in our writing lesson the children were able to write about what else we could make out of recycled materials. We have been exploring subtraction within 10 this week in maths. The children comfortably used their new mathematical vocabulary and explore different methods to help them solve equations.

Next week will be starting our new topic 'Homes Then and Now.' On the 7th February both classes will be taking a trip to the Museum of the Home. Please ensure you have signed and returned the letter before we go!

Have a lovely weekend!

Best wishes,

The Reception Team
