Week ending Friday 8th December 2023

Dear Families,

This week we continued to learn about toys and focused our learning around how toys have changed.  We thought back to when we has a visit from the Toy Museum and got to look at some toys from the past. We compared what different materials toys are made of in the past and now and talked about how some toys now use batteries. The children are becoming so confident using their writing to share their learning. In maths, we focussed on representing the number 10 and started to look at number bonds.

The children also had a great time watching the pantomime on Wednesday and helping Pip the Elf make a Christmas toy!

Next week is full of festive activities! On Monday morning at 9.30am, we have our EYFS Winter Sounds concert. Please join us in the hall to watch us sing. Please have your child come to school wearing a red top. On Wednesday (13/12) it is Christmas jumper day, where the children are invited to wear a festive jumper to school. We also have our Christmas lunch on Wednesday and the kitchen will be making us a special lunch! Finally on Friday we have our final Family Friday of the term. Just like before you are invited to come in at 3.00pm to read a story with your child. Please feel free to bring in any festive stories you might have at home!

Have a lovely weekend.

Best wishes,

The Reception Team
