Week ending Friday 17th November 2023

Dear Families,

This week we continued our topic, 'Our School Community' and were answering the curious question 'where do we all live?'  We learnt about local Stoke Newington landmarks that we might spot on the way to school and drew observational drawings of Clissold Park. Reception went on their first ever trip on Friday - exploring Clissold Park and trying to spot the landmarks that we had learnt about. Thank you to all the adults that were able to join us and help navigate the park safely, the children had an amazing time!

In Maths, we have been learning all about the number 7. We have been practising writing the number as well as finding number bonds. In Phonics, we have been continuing in our groups and we have been seeing lots of progress. This week was also Anti-Bulling Week, so the children had a Magic Carpet workshop where they practiced being kind to different storybook characters!

Next week we will be learning about our favourite toys, so we will be inviting the children to bring their favourite toy in on Thursday (23/11). Please ensure it has your child's name on it to ensure nothing gets lost! Finally, we have another Family Friday next week at 3pm, so feel free to bring in a book to share with your child.

Have a great weekend.

Best wishes,

The Reception Team
