Week ending Friday 10th May 2024

Dear Families,

This week we have continued our topic 'My Local Community'. Our focus has been answering our curious questions 'How do we keep safe on the road?' The children learned that when we cross the road we must stop, look, listen and think to see if it is safe. It was fantastic to see how responsible the children were as they each took trips to the zebra crossing. In our writing lesson, they thought of even more ways of how to keep safe when they walk to school and were able to name the things they saw on the road. We had amazing sentences like 'I will hold mum's hand' and 'On the road I see a zebra crossing.' In maths the children were learning how to count in 10s. They were able to match towers of ten to the number and put the numbers in the right order!

Next week the children will be learning about how they can help their community and Friday they will use their learning to put on a charity event. Please join us at 3pm on Friday (17/5) for our charity sale where we will be selling our clay pots, plants and lemonade.

Have a lovely and sunny weekend!

Best Wishes,

The Reception team
