Week ending Friday 1st March 2024

Dear Families,

We have had another exciting and busy week in Reception.  Our World Book Day celebrations were a real highlight - it was so lovely to see the amount of effort put in by all of the children and to see how enthusiastically they talked about their favourite stories. Everyone should have taken home a book token that can be used towards a book, we look forward to hearing about what the children have chosen.

In maths, we have deepening our understanding of teens numbers by representing numbers 16-19 on a ten frame.  The children have been challenging themselves to write equations too. In our afternoon lessons, the children have also been exploring how villages are different than cities. They were even able to create their own  fact file comparing Georgie's village to the capital city of Burkina Faso, Ouagadougou.  We also enjoyed using ukuleles in music this week!

Have a lovely and restful weekend.  Hopefully we will see some signs of spring soon!

Best Wishes,

The Reception team.
