Week ending Friday 3rd May 2024
Dear Families,
This week we started our new topic 'My Local Community' and answered the question 'Who helps us in our community?' We talked about the people in our community that help us like doctors, police officers and bus drivers. The children could then identify who helps them and even thought about how they might help their community when they grow up. In our story, Omu makes a stew and shares it with the people in her community. This gave us the idea to make our own stew! The children wrote the instructions, helped us chop the vegetables and even tasted the stew. In maths, we revisited teen numbers and it was fantastic to see the children's confidence in their knowledge of number grow.
We hope everyone has a restful bank holiday weekend and we will see you on Tuesday!
Best Wishes,
The Reception team
