On November 30th, the middle school boys' Basketball team went against KIPP Durham Prep. Pre-game they practiced with much effort and dedicated themselves to win the impending game. Also, the cheerleaders did not fall behind the basketball team, while they practiced their husky pride! While practicing, you could hear the prideful chants of the cheerleaders throughout the whole upper school building. It's a very surreal sight and sound from both of the teams representing the NECP huskies! At the first sound of the whistle, the Huskies scored a very quick shot. The Huskies continued with the pressure in the first quarter! In the first quarter, the score was 16-0 with the Huskies in the lead! At the start of the second half, the Huskies continued the valiant effort with a starting score of 20-7 with the Huskies in the lead again! Midway through the 3rd quarter, Kipp started to improve their defense and NECP started to lose their footing which, unfortunately, cost them 4 points at the three-minute mark. But Necp prevailed with a score of 24-13 at the end of the 3rd quarter! At the 4-minute mark, the Huskies doubled the opponent's score to 30-15! The Huskies take the game by a score of 37-21, congrats to the Huskies on your victory!
A player named Alex Cantres was interviewed
He said, “Winning was the only thing going through his mind.” Also, he revealed that the team's goal for the season was to take the conference championship! Again, congrats to the Huskies on their victory!
