This Quality Policy statement outlines NCU Training’s approach to the management of quality and standards. NCU Training’s approach to quality complies with the provisions of the Qualifications and Quality Assurance Act 2012 (QQI) and the PHECC Awarding Bodies Educational Standards. NCU Training acknowledges that it is ultimately responsible for the academic standards of awards made in its name and for its learners’ quality of learning experiences. NCU Training’s quality assurance policy has the following goals:
- To develop a quality assurance culture that permeates all parts of NCU Training for the benefit of the learners, staff and the greater community.
- To ensure that NCU Training’s strategic planning and development and quality assurance and improvement mutually inform and support each other.
- To make sure that appropriate and transparent governance and management structures are in place to guarantee continuous progress in imposing and assisting first-class quality assurance and development measures.
- To put into effect and maintain procedures referring to the approval, tracking and evaluation of programmes.
- To take into consideration recommendations of unbiased, independent external peers and organisations, in particular, external examiners, professional, statutory and regulatory bodies and external assessors in internal and external reviews of academic, administrative and support units, and in subject matter-primarily based high-quality reviews.
- To accumulate quantitative and qualitative information and to conduct periodic surveys to get feedback from our key stakeholder groups including learners, employers and other stakeholders, for quality improvement and policymaking.
- To maintain NCU Training in good standing in relation to its legislative obligations and to make the organisation a model centre of excellence for learners.
- To cultivate our specific interest in seeking out creative, learning-centred and future-focused teaching and governance approaches in further education and training.
This Quality Assurance Policy will be reviewed on an on-going basis to ensure that it remains appropriate, consistent and fit for purpose.
