Rare historical WW2-era weather observations from US Navy Pacific fleet based at Hawai'i. The ships recorded weather observations throughout 1941-45 period including during Pearl Harbour attack, Typhoon Cobra and various Far-East battles, rendering for the first time a picture of day-today weather of those places through in-situ observations. These observations provide much needed coverage to reduce observational gaps left by the WW2 conflict in the global observational datasets.
