Dr Barbara Brooks will provide an overview of the NCAS Visiting Scientist Programme, its purpose and how to apply.

In January, Laurents Marker (software developer, NCAS I.T. team, Leeds) visited the Mesoscale and Microscale Meteorology lab at NCAR's Foothills Lab in Boulder, Colorado.  The purpose of the trip was to study the generation of unstructured meshes for the Model for Prediction Across Scales (MPAS) with its developers, enabling NCAS to produce its own. It was funded as part of the visiting scientist program, which Laurents will discuss during the talk alongside successful outcomes of his work at NCAR.
