CLASSROOM WORK ETHIC:
A strong work ethic and positive attitude is expected from each student. This course can be difficult and sometimes frustrating; however, I expect every student to rise up to the occasion to succeed! This will be demonstrated in the following manner:
GRADING POLICY:
***Academic Integrity: You will adhere to UTT’s academic Integrity policy at all times.***
Grades can be checked using Aeries. Depending on the length of the current assignment, grades will typically be updated approximately 1-2 weeks after a submission. All late work is accepted for 50% (F) of the grade as all work is done in class. Late work will be entered when I get to it! If my work is not your priority, putting it in Aeries immediately is not mine. DO NOT repeatedly ask me to enter it 5 minutes after you turn it in!
Life happens! If you having issues at home or school, multiple exams at once, or realize you need more time for your project, to complete your absolute best work, email me for a possible (not guaranteed) extension a week before the due date. You CANNOT request any possible extension right when the project is due!
Grading Scale:
All students begin with an A. Whether or not you uphold this grade is your responsibility and will be determined by the stated Classroom Expectations and Requirements. I do not give grades, you earn them!
CREATING:
These layout designs are essential to mapping your steps and organizing your process to manage your time in class. These layout designs will be turned in prior to start of your project.
Throughout each quarter, you will complete a professional art portfolio that includes and not limited to your in-class projects, planning pages, and so forth. You will utilize your portfolio as a map to your artistic process for each project.
PERFORMING/PRESENTING/PRODUCING:
Creating well thought out artworks is the core of our class. These projects are worth a major part of your grade; hence, you should be prepared to maximize your studio time. Do not be afraid to explore and experiment!
RESPONDING:
Self-reflective forms will be given to you with each unit project. By utilizing these forms as a guide during your artistic process, you will evaluate the success to meet a set of particular criteria as well as your own personal target goals.
CONNECTING:
Presentations are a vital portion of this class. They are mandatory and are utilized to determine areas of improvement to benefit your learning. Participation includes the following everyday: abiding to school/classroom expectations and requirements, coming to class on time, having all required class materials, working productively during class and tutorial, classroom discussions, appropriate behavior at all times, classroom cleanup, etc.

TARDY POLICY:
Tardiness is a great distraction. By being tardy to class, you are losing valuable learning opportunities and studio time to work on your projects. I understand that there are sometimes circumstances that are often out of your control that cause you to be late; however, I expect you to come talk to me before, during a break, or after class to discuss alternatives to ensure that your tardiness does not impede your learning.
Enter the class in a positive manner and be seated in your assigned seat well before the bell rings. You will be marked tardy if you are not seated in your assigned seat when the bell rings.
Unexcused Tardy Policy:
ABSENCE POLICY:
Due to the nature of the class, all projects will be completed in class. However, if homework is assigned, please follow these guidelines for making up work due to absences:
