OBJECTIVES:
- To better understand the function of texture in your artwork, you will create an animal magazine collage that will demonstrate the appearance of that animal’s texture.
KEY TERMS:
- Texture:
- Is the surface quality that can be seen and felt
- Tactile (Actual) Texture:
- It is the physical or actual texture of an object
- Visual Texture:
- Refers to the illusion of the surface’s texture
- It is what tactile texture looks like on a 2D surface
- Natural Texture:
- It is texture we find in nature (not made by humans)
- Artificial Texture:
- It is texture of things made by humans
CITYSCAPE PROJECT DIRECTIONS:
For this project, you will create an animal magazine collage that will use a variety of ripped magazine pieces to create the appearance of that animal’s texture. The animal must cover ¾ of the paper, the pieces MUST OVERLAP, and you need to have a background.
- Choose an animal.
- Rip colors from magazine to glue on paper.
- Draw the silhouette of the animal on the paper and then glue on ripped pieces of magazines.
- Submit Final Project to Ms. Moreno!
