OBJECTIVES:
- To understand better the function of shape, you will be designing a pop figure mural using Keith Haring's technique and style that depicts a themed concept.
KEY TERMS:
- Shape:
- A closed line; flat.
- Pop Art:
- Art inspired by or made from consumer goods, mass media, and popular culture.
- Theme:
- A central idea, theme, subject matter, or message in a piece of literature or artwork.
- Mural:
- A painting or other work of art executed directly on a wall.
- Concept:
- An idea or plan; theme
- Symbol:
- Usually a solid, recognizable thing—an animal, a plant, an object, etc.—that stands for something.
KEITH HARING POP FIGURE MURAL PROJECT DIRECTIONS:
For this project, you will design a pop figure mural using Keith Haring's technique and style that depicts a themed concept of your choice. Refer to the examples below for ideas. Follow and check off the steps below to ensure that you are completing this project to the best of your ability.
- Choose a Theme:
- Theme: A central idea or subject matter in a piece of literature or artwork.
- Choose 1 of the themes I have listed on the class website
- Circle Map:
- You will list out symbols that represent your theme using a BUBBLE MAP. You will complete this bubble map in your concept box on the Project Planner.
- You will need a minimum of 5 or more symbols!
- Fill out project planner.
- Start Final Project (receive feedback from Ms. Moreno at least 3 times throughout the process).
- Submit Final Project to Google Classroom!
