What is an international fair?

What is the purpose of the international fair?

What can we learn about a culture through its art forms?

Why should we study other cultures and what does it teach us?

OBJECTIVES:

Students will learn about the purpose of the international fair by celebrating the cultural traits that are shared and makes people unique.
Students will learn more about a culture by creating and designing a display board that demonstrates information about the country or state.
Students will research information about an artist from a specific country or state. Students will replicate some of the artist's most famous pieces.

KEY TERMS:

International Fair:
- The International Fair is a celebration of the many cultures in our society. The purpose of the international fair is to encourage you to learn about other cultures around the world, to celebrate what makes us all unique, and to recognize cultural traits that we share.
Researcher:
- The systematic use of the artistic process, the actual making of artistic expressions in all of the different forms of the arts, as a primary way of understanding and examining experience by both researchers and the people that they involve in their studies.
Curator:
- The job entails being responsible for a museum's collection, selecting art to be displayed in a museum, organizing art exhibitions in galleries or public spaces, researching artists, and producing the written material.
Culture:
- The customs, arts, social institutions, and achievements of a particular nation, people, or other social group.
Identity:
- Is the way in which we perceive and express ourselves.

INTERNATIONAL PROJECT DIRECTIONS:

Purpose: To encourage you to learn about other cultures and artists around the world, to celebrate what makes us all unique, and to recognize cultural traits that we share. We are not just citizens of the United States; we are citizens of the world.

Who: You will all embark on an international journey around the world!

General Directions: In a group of four, you and your partners will create a well-organized and decorated display board and artwork. Please make sure that you check off all of the items that is required for each role that I have provided for you. Make sure you use your time wisely in order to complete this project on time.

4th Annual INTERNATIONAL FAIR

When: April 11th during lunch in Quad A

Decide groups and select roles/artist/country.
Complete project planner based on role.
Start working on final project. Make sure to receive feedback from Ms. Moreno prior to submitting.
Submit Final Project to Google Classroom!
