ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS:
- What is a portfolio?
- What is the purpose of a portfolio in an Art class?
- How can portfolio covers be used in Art?
OBJECTIVES:
- You will identify the function of a portfolio in an Art class.
- You will observe and analyze how a portfolio and portfolio covers are used to create an organizational system to file your artwork, notes, reflections, and so forth in an orderly fashion.
KEY TERMS:
- Portfolio:
- A collection of their best artwork intended to showcase an artist's style or method of work.
- Portfolio Covers:
- A set of covers that decorate a collection of artwork.
- Organization:
- The structure or arrangement of related or connected items.
PORTFOLIO PROJECT DIRECTIONS:
For this project, you will create portfolio covers for your art portfolio. Your porfolio should include the following listed below and be used to hold your wonderful artworks throughout the year. Refer to the examples above for ideas. Follow and check off the steps below to ensure that you are completing this project to the best of your ability.
What should be included on your portfolio cover:
- Your FIRST and LAST name on BOTH SIDES of the portfolio in large letters (your name will be the emphasis of your portfolio).
- Must be colored in colored pencil or crayon (NO MARKERS).
- NO WHITE (unless it is your name) can be showing.
- Any images, drawings, photographs, stickers, etc. that personalizes this portfolio as yours!
- You can add quotes or words that represent you.
- Your overall presentation needs to be neat and clean.
- Start Final Project (receive feedback from Ms. Moreno at least 3 times throughout the process.
- Submit Final Project to Google Classroom!
