SAT Prep Class

The goal of this project was to create a class for mainly sophomores and juniors to better prepare for the SAT test - it would be a joint elective class with a math and English teacher. The course would have minimized homework and focus on content and test taking strategies that will improve your SAT scores. The course would also provide enrichment opportunities in English and math content, and may include skills such as resume writing or data analysis, at the discretion of the teacher.

2018-19 Developing the Class

  • Conducted a survey given to students regarding whether or not they'd be interested in the course. The majority of the sophomores and juniors said they would like to enroll but would need further information.

  • Discussed and created a course description with Mr. Lavers and Ms. Hennigan, who would be willing to teach the class.

  • Wrote up a course description to be put into the Program of Studies with details such as the name of the course, the amount of work, focus of the class, etc.

  • The class was added to the 2019-2020 Course Catalog with the title Junior Seminar.
