Mentor Group Spirit Activities

The goal of our project is to increase school spirit through Mentor Monday activities, and bring MVRHS students together by means of school-wide competition and group projects.

2019-20

We felt it would be fun to have all the homerooms participate in a school wide activity that was hands-on. We did two activities.

We did a door decorating contest during spirit/ homecoming week to increase school spirit.

  • Came up with the idea for a door decorating contest

  • Ordered materials for contest

  • Provided each homeroom with materials to decorate door

  • Asked staff members to judge doors

  • Judged doors

  • Announced the winners of the contest at fall pep rally

We did a “Gratitude hands" tree” at the end of November

  • Ordered materials

  • Had each student of each homeroom cut out an outline of their hand and write what they are thankful for during Mentor Monday

  • Cut out tree

  • Stapled tree and hands to bulletin board in the 400’s hallway
