Safe Schools

It is important that students play an active role in providing a secure environment in all Middletown Public Schools. To that end, students are expected to report any behavior that would compromise the safety of anyone in school. Safety issues to be reported would include, but are not limited to:

  • A student with a weapon or any such material that could cause harm to self or another; a student expressing any plan or intention to do harm to self (including threats of suicide) or another person, personnel, or the school building; or a student selling drugs or any other illegal materials.

  • All threats to the safety of the school, staff or students are taken seriously; it is better to err on the side of providing too much information than to experience a tragedy and wish that you had shared information.

Middletown High School maintains an extensive video camera monitoring system for the safety of all students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
