Interventions and Supports

Interventions

General Intervention

After school intervention sessions may be assigned to students who are experiencing difficulty in their core academic classes. Students and parents will be notified notified when expected performance levels are not being met and supports will be put in place in order to improve learning.

During the school day, additional interventions may be administered for students during Advisory. Students will be identified for attendance in intervention sessions and instruction will be focused on specific skills and concepts.

Project Success

The Project Success program was born out of a demonstrated need to meet students where they were regarding academic, social, and emotional needs. Students participating in the Project Success, school-day course, may be included for one or more of the following reasons:

In order to be considered for enrollment students must first be recommended for this class by a combination of teachers, administrators, guidance counselors, support staff, and/or family members. After a team review, students may or may not be admitted to this space based on the determined need for additional supports.

Peer Tutoring

After school, peer tutoring opportunities are offered throughout the year via the Middletown High School National Honor Society. Peer tutoring assignments are facilitated by either the building principal or the current National Honor Society Faculty Advisor.

Tutoring arrangements are made on a case by case basis in which a variety of factors such as area of need, student/family preference, availability, and current grade level are all considered. For more information on the NHS Peer Tutoring program, please navigate to the Middletown High School National Honor Society website found here!
