Motor Vehicles
Driving to school and parking is a privilege and should be treated as such for eligible students. Due to a limited amount of parking space, only Juniors and Seniors are allowed to apply for annual parking passes.
Please note that in order to apply for a parking pass, students must provide the following:
A fully completed MHS Parking Pass Application form
Proof of insurance
A valid driver's license
Passes may be obtained at any point throughout the school year (so long as space remains) and can be applied for via the link provided below:
Once completed, students will be assigned a numbered parking spot on the MHS campus. Students must park in their assigned spot only.
Students who park a vehicle on campus without authorization or in an unauthorized parking space/lot will be subject to disciplinary consequences and run the risk of having the car towed at the owner's expense.
Parking passes should remain visible in student vehicles at all times.
Parking spots will be assigned as follows:
Senior class officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer) will be assigned primary spots in the front of the building
Remaining Seniors who have completed and submitted all required documents by the predetermined deadline will be placed into a lottery and randomly selected for preferred student parking
Juniors who have completed and submitted all required documents by the predetermined deadline will be placed into a lottery and randomly selected for general student parking
Any Junior or Senior student who submits their required documentation after the deadline will be placed in a rolling lottery and will be assigned spots based on remaining availability.
Per school tradition, Senior students are allowed to paint their parking spots once assigned. For more information and directions on this process, please click on the link provided below:
Please note that the MHS Administration reserves the right to suspend/revoke student parking at any time based on the following criteria:
Excessive unexcused tardies, absences, or dismissals from school
Leaving school grounds without permission
Unsafe driving practices in the school parking lot
Repeated skips of detention or active avoidance of other assigned disciplinary consequences
Other related disciplinary infractions
In the event of an accident, the police will be called and parents of all involved drivers will be contacted.
If a student has a temporary different car on campus because of extenuating circumstances, they must register that car in the Main Office.
Also, be mindful that we have neighbors, a Police Station nearby and many other drivers arriving on campus, drive respectfully.
Finally, please note that the MHS Administration reserves the right to search any vehicle on the property if it is determined that the burden of reasonable suspicion has been met.
