At the beginning of the year we had an i-ready test on math. This test was before we had learned anything in school yet. I got 530. My overall math score was early 8th grade. But because I was in advanced math last year I got into it again.
In this test the questions asked a lot about inequalities. If you got 0-60% then you get a Developing, if you got 61-80% you got an approaching, then finally if you got 81-100% then you got a meets. I got 71% so I got an approaching. I think I could have done better by reading through the questions slower. My goal for my next quiz in the future is to take my time and fully read through each question. Also I feel that I could have done test corrections and I didn't.
In this test it talked about Exponential and Linear functions. I got a MEETS+ because I only got a couple questions wrong. I think I struggled when adding the brackets ( ) [ ] because I would always forget to put them on there and I wouldn't remember which one was which. I think the easiest one was finding the functions on the table because I could see the numbers unlike on a graph where the numbers are a little unclear. A goal I would like to set for myself would be read through the problem fully and not just skim through it because a lot of the time, I skim through it and miss a lot of key things.
These are a couple of the delta math assignments I have completed. Delta math is one of our things that we have to complete each night for homework. If we don't finish the assignment by the end of the week. Then we get an approaching on it. I have been working really hard to make it so that I don't forget to finish it. This week we had delta math and I finished it on Monday. I tried to finish it very early in the week so that I wouldn't be stressed to get it done right before POLs.
In math we made this slide show about quadratic functions and how they relate to the real world. I was assigned a satellite dish. This is a quadratic because the shape of it is a U and can be calculated as one. Me and my partner had to present in front of my math class about it. I got a meets+ because I knew what I was talking about and I presented well.
We had to take our math one final. On this test you would get 4 points for every question if we got it correct. Then we would get 1-3 point if we messed the answer up but showed our work, and finally you would get 0 point if you didn't even try and you left the problem blank. In total I got 166/184 points which was an exceeds.
I ended up doing my test corrections and corrected all the questions that I got wrong. After I did this I then was left with the score of an exceeds +.
I can proficiently analyze quadratic functions across all forms (standard, vertex, and intercept) to identify key features (vertex, axis of symmetry, intercepts, domain, range, maximum/minimum value) and solve them algebraically, graphically, and contextually to model and predict real-world phenomena
Each week we have a quest check where we have a paper that has a problem on it. We have to figure it out by solving it our selves or looking it up on the internet.
This test was about quadratics.
Final -
On this test I got meets+ because I got 61/68 points. I think I could have done a lot better because on a lot of my problems I didn't read the question fully and solved them the wrong way. I Had to study a lot for it to prepare myself to do good. In the end I am very happy with the score I got and I am proud that I did well.
Practice test -
For the test we had to do a practice test which had problems similar to the real test so that we could study up, and remember the things that we had learned at the beginning of the year. I worked really hard on this so that I would be prepared for what was going to be asked on the test. I got a meets on this packet because I finished it. Solving these problems really helped me know which parts I had to have a refresher on and which ones I was good and confident on.
Delta math -
Before the test we had to finish our delta math which was about quadratics and things that was going to be on the test. This had a lot of questions on it that I had to calculate and figure out. I was really glad that I did this because it really refreshed my memory and I was able to practice problems that I didn't know, or forgotten how to do. It was a little bit difficult because I had kinda forgot that it was due and had to rush to do it in the morning. Luckily it ended up helping me because I was able to remember how to do each problem.
